TRAVEL ICONS

Provence is a lot like your first kiss. Just visiting creates that giddy excitement and longing for more. And just as it only takes one intoxicating scent to transport you instantly to that exact moment, so too will the sweet smell of lavender forever bond you forever. If Provence is the kiss, then your Vagabond Tour will be true love.

Whatever your reason for coming to Provence, one thing is certain---you will eat well. The local produce is colorful and fresh, and every day is Market Day in Provence. We'll visit nearby Aix en Provence, which has one of the region's biggest markets and has been taking place for centuries. With over 350 stalls, you can easily pass the morning meandering the labyrinth of homegrown specialties, chatting with local artisans and soaking in this ultimate 'grocery shopping' experience. Laura is sure to be on the hunt for something spectacular for dinner, so keep your eyes peeled for the items on her must have list.

A tour of the villages perched above the Luberon is something you’ll never forget. The red rocks of Roussillon or the purple fields of lavender, and the yellow sunflower fields are a Provencal tapestry and a postcard come to life.

Dining with Edouard Loubet will be a highlight of this luxurious tour. The young chef is known for wonderfully inventive food that draws heavily on obscure ingredients such as rumex (also known as sorrel) and tétragone (New Zealand spinach). In his 12-acre garden, Chef Loubet grows much of his own produce, such as the sunflowers he uses for his signature sunflower hearts with sweet vinaigrette, grated-potato fritters, and chanterelles. "I definitely take risks in the kitchen," told us last year. "At first I like to shock people by mixing flavors, but then I like to harmonize and balance. But the taste must be strong, pure, and clear.”

The beauty of the countryside and the quality of light have inspired many artists, writers and painters for years. It is sure to inspire you to greatness as well. Come along to this legendary land and relax with us for a while by the pool, or explore the beauty that is outside our front door. Either way, you are guaranteed to fall in love with Provence.
